Hyatt Regency Inside Orlando International Airport (MCO)

Hello and Welcome! In this post, we’ll take a look at the Hyatt Regency conveniently located inside the Orlando International Airport. Perhaps you’ve seen it as you hurried toward security on your last trip to Orlando. Is it really as convenient as it seems? Let’s have a look.

To access the hotel, you need to find the elevator up to the lobby from the main airport level. There are also escalators going to/from lobby level from/to airport level on the right and left hand sides. If there have been any airport delays or cancellations, I recommend using the escalators as the elevator can get very busy during these times. However, know that the elevator is the only option (besides stairs) to get to room floors.

On the lobby floor, you’ll find the check in desk of course, the bar, and the restaurant, along with all the meeting and conference spaces. You do NOT need to be a guest of the hotel to utilize the bar or restaurant. It seemed many people were aware of this, as during our stay the airport did experience some significant delays making the bar area in particular very crowded.

The pool here is quite unique! You can watch all the commotion going on down on the runways, taxiways, and some gate areas, as well as see planes taking off and landing. There are binoculars stationed at different points to help in this observational endeavor. There is lots of space for hanging out and lounging, and the pool is a decent size. I was disappointed not to find a hot tub, though.

The gym is located just inside the doors from the pool deck. It’s in an L-shaped space with its own bathroom and shower. The bathroom is the same as you might find in one of the guest rooms. There’s a variety of equipment here that should fit all your basic workout needs. Something more unusual, though, is the partnership between Hyatt and Peloton that allows you to access workout programs directly on your TV in your room. After long hours traveling, and considering the relatively small gym, this is a great addition to your room to work out those aches and pains.

Also in your room, you can access guided meditations, sleep sounds, and relaxation techniques provided by Hyatt’s partnership with Headspace. If you’d rather stay awake, dive into a new or old skill with MasterClass.

The room was very quiet! We were most worried about this since the hotel is located inside a busy terminal. But it turns out we had nothing to worry about! Hyatt has done a nice job bringing softness and relaxation into this property, such as soothing waterfalls and foliage in the hallways.

All in all, we have no problem recommending this property, especially if you have a super early flight like we did. 4am came around so fast, ugh. Make this your sanctuary on your next Orlando vacay.
