Unlocking the magic of Disneyland, one hotel at a time.

Hilton Anaheim

The Anaheim Hilton is a large hotel south of the intersection of Katella & Harbor. It caters largely to attendees of events at the Anaheim Convention Center. But it could be an option for your Disneyland trip too! Let’s have a look.

As of my stay in November 2024, the Hilton is undergoing a huge, multi-million dollar renovation. I did NOT get to stay in a newly renovated room. Sigh.

Hilton is really hoping you don’t have to leave the property here. There’s a Starbucks in the lobby; there’s a restaurant and lounge; there’s a food court with 3-4 options (limited hours); there are 2 shops; there’s a salon; there’s a FedEx store; there’s meeting rooms and ballrooms and conference rooms; there are revolving “exhibits” with art and such on display. It’s almost a small city!

This type of large hotel can be intimidating to some. If that is you, this is definitely NOT your hotel.

Though, as I said, this hotel seems to be mainly for convention-goers, it did have a super nice splash pad/play area for the kiddos by the pool. (See pics below.) But it is a good 20 minute walk to Disneyland. Especially if you are on one of the upper floors.

I’m sorry, I’m trying to organize my thoughts better about this hotel, but my thoughts just keep getting jumbled up. Maybe because of the renovation going on and how I felt during my stay? I’d love to go back once the renovation is complete to do an updated stay/review.

Let’s see if going floor by floor helps my flow.

One shop here is for souvenirs, more kid-friendly. The other shop has more adult-oriented souvenirs and snacks, drinks, treats, sundries, etc.

I only walked by the salon. I was amazed actually to see that. LOL.

Only one of the food court stalls was open each time I walked by, so I don’t have anything to say about it. Except it’s there and seems to be mainly open for lunch.

I was able to eat at the Mix restaurant and lounge. I thought it was just ok. Especially for the price. I had a super expensive burger there. But it was convenient.

The pool was nice. There were 2 hot tubs and the splash area for kids. There’s a pool bar/snack shop. What I didn’t like, though, was that the pool area is in a courtyard-type area. Meaning the hotel surrounds it on all sides. That’s just a personal preference. Nothing bad to say about the pool.

My room was absolutely huge! But the bathroom was tiny! I thought the room I had did not make a good use of the space at all. Hopefully that gets fixed with the remodel.

There is a large parking garage attached to the hotel for guest use. Interestingly, I think it’s too big. This hotel is aimed at more business-like travelers, which means they’re most likely to be solo. But as a solo traveler, I did not feel safe in that garage. A lot of pillars and walls and unused space where who knows what could be taking place.

I’m not so sure I could recommend this hotel for families going to Disneyland. If you’re coming to Anaheim Convention Center, it’s awesome. But maybe I should reserve final judgement until after the refurbishment is complete.

What do you think?
