The First Ever Travel & Adventure Show in Phoenix, AZ
Several weeks ago, we attended the Travel & Adventure Show in our hometown Phoenix, AZ. It’s a traveling show that stops in various cities around the country, and this was its first stop ever in Phoenix.
We were very excited to attend and be a part of the inaugural experience here. Not knowing exactly what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised at the variety of places and informative content of the show.
First of all, we were happy to see lots of local representation. There were several booths dedicated to wonderful Arizona locations, like Wickenburg pictured below.
Lots of exotic destinations to choose from as well such as the Caribbean, South Pacific, Africa, and Europe.
The speaker series was very comprehensive and probably my favorite part. We spent a good part of the day in the Savvy Traveler Theater. My absolute favorite was a panel by an organization called She’s Wanderful. This organization is aimed at women traveling solo. Loved the info and participants! sheswanderful.com
There were two other theaters: Travel theater and Destination theater. Some big travel names made presentations there including Pauline Frommer, Paul Greenberg, and Andrew McCarthy.
Lots of booths handing out goodies also. Our favorite was Choctaw Country. They had an awesome green screen photo booth – FREE photo souvenir! Plus look at these other goodies:
Never thought I would be pining to go to Oklahoma, but the Choctaw booth really changed my mind!
There were giveaways to enter and deals to be had. It was certainly hard to find time for everything in one day. Next time we’ll make sure our approach is more targeted to our current interests and travel leanings.
