Disney Hotel Lady

Unlocking the magic of Disneyland, one hotel at a time.

Best Western Park Place Inn

I’m going to be frank with you. I never understood the massive appeal this property seems to have for some people. I mean, it’s just a Best Western, right? Not to sound too snooty, but c’mon. A Best Western. How can they possibly justify charging $200+ night just because they are across the street from Disneyland?? It’s. Just. A. Best. Western. Period.

So I wasn’t all that thrilled to stay here. But I had points accumulated and a sudden need for an extra night. So I booked that night here. After all, I’d get some pics and data to share with you.

Well, let me tell you – I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, it is not a luxury stay by any means. But I can understand now why some people swear by this property.

Let’s get to it!

As I said, this was only a one-night stay to supplement plans already in place.

Room Tour:

The room was a decent size. We got the standard double queen, but you could still fit 6 people with the pullout couch. Bed & pillows comfy. Nice big fridge, which I always appreciate. Lots of outlets & USBs. Still not enough storage space or places to hang towels.

Breakfast was more than I expected. They had quite a spread. Breakfast is above the restaurant next door, Calaca Mamas. You give your room number to be admitted. If you have mobility concerns reaching the second floor, just contact the front desk to work with you.

I didn’t get as many pics/videos of breakfast as I would have liked because it was such a busy place! Here is a limited view. Hot foods included eggs, cheesy eggs, turkey sausage, pork sausage, french toast sticks, and potatoes. Grab and go items included some fruits like bananas and oranges, granola bars, donuts, and bagels. Also cereals, instant oatmeal, yogurt, and toast. Plenty of juices too, plus coffee and water.

In the lobby, you’ll find a small gift shop with some incidentals, snacks, and drinks, plus a few souvenir selections. There’s also a desk to rent a scooter for your mobility needs. You’ll also find a 24-hour coffee machine for you caffeine addicts (also tea, hot cocoa, and water).

There’s an onsite laundry next to the pool and spa, with outdoor shower and bathrooms. Ice and vending machines are located throughout the 3-story building as well.

Staff were very friendly. We used their luggage storage offering in the lobby on checkout day, before we were able to check in to our next hotel. They were able to accommodate a small refrigerated item (medication) in the luggage storage as well, which was very helpful.

With its location being literal steps from the crosswalk, I would not hesitate to stay here again! I might complain about the price, but after 20,000 steps in the park, I’ll stop – haha 😂
