Unlocking the magic of Disneyland, one hotel at a time.

Fairfield Anaheim Resort

The Fairfield Inn Anaheim Resort is on Harbor, right across the street from the main entrance to Disneyland. As with the other hotels in this area, that is its biggest selling factor. But let’s dig into what kind of stay you can expect here, aside from its fantastic location.

First off, let’s start by how you find the property. It’s not always visible from the street, depending on where you are/how you’re traveling. What you will see that will be your marker is Panera and McDonald’s. Panera shares a parking lot with Fairfield. So it will look like you are coming into the Panera parking lot. Parking is $27 a day. Same price for either self-parking or valet.

There’s an adorable ruler to mark children’s height in the lobby behind the front desk. Posted on either side are height requirements for rides in the parks. Very handy!

Normally at a Fairfield Inn, breakfast is included in your nightly rate. However, that is NOT the case here. Finding breakfast shouldn’t be difficult, given its location behind Panera and next to McDonald’s. There’s also an IHOP on the walk to Disneyland.

There’s a “market” in the lobby as well as a “gift shop.” The market is 24 hours, has limited selection, and you pay at the front desk. The gift shop is much larger with all kinds of options for souvenirs, sundries, food and drink (including alcohol!) There’s also vending machines on every single floor.

There’s a large dining area complete with kids’ table, microwaves, and toasters available.

The gym, meeting room, and arcade are on the same floor, in this same area.

So far, I think it’s obvious this hotel is suited for families. I was there solo this trip, though, and I’d like to comment on that. While the elevators are directly next to the front desk and anyone entering them would therefore be observed by the front desk, each floor above that empties the lifts into a sort of vestibule area. Once here, the corners are blind any way you go out. So practically every time I came out of the elevator, I unexpectedly ran into someone. Some of the walkways were quite dark and closed off also.

Now for the room. Due to our status in the Marriott Bonvoy program, I was upgraded to the “theme” room. While the “theming” was super cute, I wouldn’t recommend paying the up-charge for this.

The pool was so popular during my stay that I had to grab some pics during the evening just before it closed. But that made for some great pics!

That about wraps up this hotel! It’s got a fantastic location, and as long as you go in with the proper expectations, I think families will enjoy their stay here.
